What the app does, what it doesn't, and what stays in your control.
What does NoImgData protect?
NoImgData can remove embedded GPS location data, hide detected faces with a strong pixelated mask, and cover visible text with an opaque mask. You choose which protections to apply. It is not a complete EXIF inspector or an all-metadata remover.
Is NoImgData free?
You get 10 full privacy exports, with up to 2 photos at once. An export is counted when you successfully save or share a protected photo, not when you process or preview it. After the allowance, location removal stays free. Premium is a one-time in-app purchase for unlimited full privacy exports, face and text protection, redaction editing, and batches of up to 20 photos. There is no subscription. The App Store shows the price in your currency.
Can I fix a missed face or text region?
Yes. Review & Edit Redactions lets you add, move, resize, exclude, or delete face and text masks. Undo is available for removed regions. Automatic detection can miss details, so review the protected copy before sharing. Redaction editing is included in the free full-protection allowance and in Premium.
Are my photos uploaded for processing?
No. Detection and masking happen on your iPhone or iPad, without uploading photos to a processing server. Importing an iCloud-only original may require an internet connection. Purchases use Apple services, and photos you choose to share are sent to your selected destination.
What happens to the original and the resolution?
Your original is not overwritten. NoImgData creates a new copy with the original pixel dimensions. Hiding faces or text changes those pixels. Depending on the protections and file format, an export may be re-encoded; the same pixel dimensions do not guarantee identical compression, HDR, or file size.
Which image formats can I use?
JPEG/JPG, HEIC/HEIF, and PNG photos. The output follows the supported source format where possible. RAW, animated images, video, and other formats are not advertised as supported.
Does removing GPS hide where I was?
It removes embedded GPS data when that protection is enabled. It does not hide landmarks, street names, house numbers, or other clues visible in the image. Other metadata, such as camera details or timestamps, may remain. Review visible details and masks before sharing.
Can I send a photo to NoImgData from another app?
For now, open NoImgData and choose photos from your Photos library. You can save protected copies to Photos or share them to other apps. An incoming Share Extension is not included in this version.
What about iCloud Photos?
If iCloud Photos is enabled, both your original and any protected copy saved to Photos may sync to your Apple account. A protected copy does not replace or delete the original. NoImgData does not control iCloud or the privacy practices of apps you share to.
Does it work on iPad? Can I restore Premium?
Yes. NoImgData supports iPhone and iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. Use Restore Purchases on the paywall with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. Premium is a non-consumable purchase, not a subscription.
Something else on your mind?
Please don't send photos containing private information unless they are needed to explain an issue and you choose to share them.
